Peru and France are gearing up to enhance their defense partnership through the upcoming Strategic Dialogue 2024 in Paris. Scheduled for the 19th and 20th of this month, this event will deepen bilateral cooperation between the two nations. Led by key officials from both countries, the talks will be hosted by the French Armed Forces Ministry’s Department of International Security Affairs.
Highlighting the importance France places on its relationship with Peru, the French Defense Attaché in Peru has extended an invitation to the Peruvian Ministry of Defense. Augusto Cabrera Rebaza, along with retired Air Force Colonel Víctor Manuel Aguilar Barreda, will lead Peru’s delegation, bringing their vast experience in international relations to the table.
While the Peruvian Armed Forces currently operate French-made assets like Mirage 2000 fighter jets, plans are underway to upgrade their space program with a new satellite. The meeting in Paris serves as an opportunity for both nations to align their defense strategies and explore new avenues of cooperation amidst evolving global challenges.
