A recent report from the Office for Audit of the Institutions of FBiH revealed irregularities related to the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina Ministry of Finance. One major issue highlighted was the misallocation of funds for the Solidarity Fund, where only a fraction of the required amount was provided, leading to a shortage in purchasing medicines for patients. The report also criticized the approval of funds for private companies, pointing out that the criteria for subsidy allocation were not met by the company “Aluminij” d.d. Mostar. The company’s ownership structure did not align with the requirements for receiving financial assistance, and the funds granted were based on gross wages exceeding legal minimums.
The Audit Office emphasized the need for proper fund allocation to ensure fair treatment of insured persons and compliance with healthcare laws. The FBiH Parliament discussed the budget reallocation to address these issues but the allocated amount for the Solidarity Fund still falls short of the requested sum. The report highlighted the disparity in fund distribution among private companies, where some received significantly more funds than others, raising concerns about fair and efficient use of public funds.
