Get ready for a financial boost, mums and dads! The Albanese government has announced that superannuation payments will now be included on top of paid parental leave (PPL), ensuring billions of dollars in retirement savings are returned to parents.
Starting from July 2025, eligible parents with babies born or adopted will receive an additional 12% of the existing Parental Leave payment directly into their super accounts.
Parents can expect a maximum super payment of around $3000 after 26 weeks, paid as a lump sum at the end of each financial year they receive PPL.
Amanda Rishworth, Minister for Social Services, emphasized the importance of boosting retirement savings for parents and addressing gender disparities in superannuation.
Don’t miss out on this fantastic opportunity to secure your financial future while on parental leave!
