Recently, Tajik Ambassador to Pakistan Yusuf Sharifzoda and Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Defense Khawaja Muhammad Asif met to discuss the CASA-1000 energy project, focusing on Tajik-Pakistani relations in various sectors.
Topics such as economics, civil aviation, security, and military cooperation were extensively covered during the meeting. The two countries also shared insights on the military-political, economic, and social situation in Afghanistan, recognizing its impact on regional security.

CASA-1000, a significant infrastructure initiative, aims to transmit 1,300 megawatts of surplus electricity from Central Asian countries to South Asian nations like Afghanistan and Pakistan, improving their electricity demands.
The project entails enhancing electrical grids in participating countries through the implementation of new substations and high-voltage power transmission lines, signaling a positive step towards regional energy collaboration.
