Nwoko’s assault on Oborevwori deemed unappetizing, blackmail – Ifeajika

In a recent media attack, Senator Ned Nwoko criticized Governor Sheriff Oborevwori over the Independent Power Plant (IPP) project in Okpai, Delta State. This move has been seen as an attempt to coerce, stampede, and blackmail the Governor before the public.

Addressing these accusations, Executive Assistant Mr. Olisa Ifeajika highlighted the three-tier government system in Nigeria and urged Senator Nwoko to focus on bringing democratic dividends to his constituency. He emphasized the need for collaboration between different levels of government to attract development.

Senator Nwoko’s motion in the Senate regarding the completion of the IPP step-down project showed his understanding of federal control over power generation. However, his expectation for the state government to fund the project was deemed unreasonable by Governor Oborevwori’s aide.

Ifeajika also defended the Governor’s focus on developing Warri, explaining the necessary steps taken to address flooding before road construction. Rather than criticizing, Ifeajika encouraged support for the Governor’s efforts in all areas of the state.

In conclusion, the call was made for Senator Nwoko to advocate for federal projects rather than pressuring the state government. Collaboration, not confrontation, was deemed essential for the effective development of Delta State.
