The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) conducted test launches of a new tactical ballistic missile and an upgraded strategic cruise missile, under the guidance of top leader Kim Jong Un, as reported by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Thursday.
The new-type tactical ballistic missile, known as Hwasongpho-11-Da-4.5, was tested for both hitting accuracy at a range of 320 kilometers and the explosive power of its 4.5 tonnage warhead. Additionally, an improved strategic cruise missile was also test-fired for enhanced combat readiness.
Kim Jong Un emphasized the necessity to strengthen DPRK’s military capabilities for self-defense amidst the current security environment. He highlighted the importance of reinforcing the nuclear force and achieving superior offensive capabilities in conventional weaponry.
The test-firings illustrate DPRK’s commitment to advancing its defense capabilities, showcasing its determination to safeguard its sovereignty and national security.
