During a meeting with Venezuela’s Minister of Transportation and the Venezuelan head of the Joint Economic Commission, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi emphasized the Pezeshkian administration’s interest in expanding relations with Caracas in all areas. Araqchi expressed hope that the visit and meetings between Venezuelan and Iranian officials would be successful, leading to progress in implementing bilateral agreements.
Araqchi also discussed the potential for improving ties between the two countries during the upcoming UN General Assembly session in New York. He congratulated Nicolas Maduro on his re-election as Venezuela’s president and received warm greetings from Maduro and Venezuela’s Foreign Minister through their representatives.
The Venezuelan Minister of Transportation highlighted Maduro’s commitment to deepening relations with Iran, especially in economic and energy sectors. He expressed confidence in the growth of ties between Tehran and Caracas under the new administrations in both countries.
