Recently, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) made a significant decision regarding the £190 million corruption reference against PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi. The IHC restrained the accountability court from pronouncing its verdict, granting relief to the accused. Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi had filed petitions seeking acquittal, citing amendments in the National Accountability Ordinance introduced during the PDM regime.
While the high court instructed the trial court to continue with the proceedings, Imran Khan made notable statements regarding the government’s determination to pass constitutional amendments. He highlighted the alleged involvement of “four umpires” in the political scenario and expressed concerns about safeguarding democracy.
Imran Khan also addressed various issues, including his arrest, election fraud, and the importance of the rule of law for foreign investment and economic stability. He urged the public to support PTI and attend the upcoming Lahore jalsa.
