Falklands Celebrates Chilean Independence Day with Local Community
Falklands join local Chilean community in celebrating independence Day
The Falkland Islands celebrate Chilean Independence Day on September 18 to honor their close ties with Chile. The large Chilean community, consisting of almost two hundred members, has contributed significantly to the development of the Islands over the years. The celebrations include traditional Chilean music, dance, cuisine, and gratitude for their support.
Aside from the historical connection, Chile has been a reliable ally of Britain, further strengthening the bond between the two nations. The Falklands government extends warm wishes to all celebrating Chilean Independence Day and acknowledges the valuable presence of Chilean citizens in the community.
Happy Chilean Independence Day to our friends in Chile and to all celebrating in the Falklands. Did you know that 5% of our population are from Chile? #Chile
