During an official visit to Italy, First Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of the General Staff of the Azerbaijan Army, Colonel General Karim Valiyev, paid tribute at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Piazza Venezia. The delegation also met with Admiral Giuseppe Cavo Dragone, Chief of Defense of Italy.
The Chiefs participated in an official welcoming ceremony at the General Headquarters, exchanging greetings and passing along the guard of honor while national anthems played. Discussions included the structure and activities of the Italian Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces, as well as prospects for cooperation in military, military-technical, and military-educational fields.
Ambassador Rashad Aslanov provided insights on regional security issues. Colonel General Valiyev congratulated Admiral Dragone on his appointment as Chair of the NATO Military Committee, wishing him success in his new role.
