APC Vows to Resist Intimidation Ahead of Osun State Local Government Election
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has declared its readiness to resist any form of intimidation from the Osun Independent Electoral Commission (OSIEC) regarding the upcoming local government election next year. The Chairman of OSIEC, Mr. Hashim Abioye, recently announced that the APC and two other parties risk disqualification in seven local governments due to illegal candidate substitutions.
In response, the APC Chairman in Osun, Tajudeen Lawal, criticized the alleged infractions as an attempt to hinder the party’s candidates in the election. Despite efforts to remedy the situation within the given timeframe, the party faced obstacles in submitting necessary documents to the commission.
The APC highlighted concerns about the impartiality of OSIEC, pointing out potential biases and operational shortcomings. The party affirmed its commitment to ensuring fairness in the electoral process and pledged to challenge any unjust treatment of its candidates.
As the local government election approaches, the APC remains determined to uphold its candidates’ rights and push back against any perceived interference or misconduct by electoral authorities.
