MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The Venezuelan government expressed its dissatisfaction with the EU’s interference in its affairs, specifically criticizing EU foreign policy chief Josep Borrell. Vice Minister for European Affairs of the Venezuelan Foreign Ministry, Coromoto Godoy, handed a note of protest to the EU delegation in Caracas. Godoy stated, “Venezuela respects itself, we will no longer tolerate interference in our country. The European Union must address its own problems.”
Borrell previously referred to Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro’s government as a dictatorship. This led to diplomatic tensions, with Venezuela recalling its ambassador to Spain. Additionally, Spanish Defense Minister Margarita Robles labeled Maduro’s government as a dictatorship, sparking further controversy.
