TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, September 18. In a significant move to boost economic relations between Uzbekistan and France, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the Uzbekistan-France Economic Chamber have signed a memorandum of cooperation.
The agreement, signed during a meeting between the Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Davron Vakhabov and President of the Uzbekistan-France Economic Chamber Joanna Golas, paves the way for collaboration in key areas, setting a foundation for future growth.
Discussions during the meeting also centered around developing trade and economic ties, including the possibility of holding round tables involving business representatives and government agencies from both countries. The agreement also aims to promote products and services of Uzbek and French companies, as well as foster the establishment of joint ventures.
The opening of the Uzbekistan-France Economic Chamber earlier this year marked a milestone in the bilateral relationship, bringing together more than 50 French companies, entrepreneurs, and Uzbek partners. This initiative was initially proposed during a visit by French President Emmanuel Macron to Uzbekistan in November 2023.
