A Taiwanese company has revealed that exploding pagers in Lebanon, injuring thousands, were manufactured by a Hungarian company under the Gold Apollo brand. The AR-924 pagers were made by BAC Consulting KFT, a Hungary-based distributor. Taiwan denies shipping these pagers to Lebanon or the Middle East.
Hungary’s announcement clarified that the company linked to the exploding communication devices, Pak, is merely a commercial intermediary without production facilities in the country. Hungarian government confirmed that the issue does not pose a threat to national security.
Despite accusations linking the pagers to Hezbollah, the investigation reveals no evidence of Hungarian involvement in the explosions. The situation raises concerns about the origin and distribution of these dangerous devices, urging the authorities to strengthen oversight and trace the supply chain to prevent further incidents.
