Taiwan and Hungary Deny Involvement in Explosive Pagers Used by Hezbollah

In a shocking development, Taiwan and Hungary have both denied having any connection to the pagers that exploded in Lebanon, resulting in 12 deaths and thousands of injuries among Hezbollah members.

The New York Times reported that Israel had inserted explosive material into a shipment of pagers from Taiwan’s Gold Apollo, which sparked investigations by Taiwanese prosecutors and denials from both Gold Apollo and its Hungarian partner, BAC Consulting KFT.

Taiwan’s economic affairs ministry clarified that the pagers made by Gold Apollo in Taiwan are harmless and incapable of exploding, further distancing the company from the deadly incident.

Meanwhile, BAC Consulting in Hungary appears to be a one-person operation with limited involvement in the product, as CEO Cristiana Barsony-Arcidiacono claimed they do not manufacture pagers.

The explosions in Lebanon have been attributed to Israel by the Iran-backed militant group Hezbollah, adding a political dimension to the already complex investigation.
