Police have identified “suspicious” mail containing a white powder substance sent to election offices in at least a dozen states, causing evacuations and investigations by law enforcement agencies.
The mail, which was intercepted before reaching its intended destinations in some states, reached offices in New York, Tennessee, Wyoming, Kentucky, and others, according to ABC News. The FBI and U.S. Postal Inspection Service are investigating the series of suspicious mailings, with some containing an unknown substance like flour.
Reports indicate that one package had a return address of the “U.S. Traitor Elimination Army” and several locations in different states were evacuated as a precaution. Last November, similar incidents occurred in Washington, Texas, Oregon, and Georgia, with some envelopes testing positive for fentanyl.
Concerns over these mysterious packages have sparked nationwide attention and fear, highlighting the need for enhanced security measures in handling mail sent to government offices and officials.
