Hezbollah vows retaliation after pager explosion attack
Hezbollah’s Sayyed Hashem Safieddine has declared that the group will mete out “special punishment” in response to Tuesday’s pager explosion attack.
The group is gearing up for a “new confrontation with the enemy,” Safieddine emphasized.
Reports indicate that hundreds of handheld pagers exploded simultaneously in Lebanon and parts of Syria on Tuesday, resulting in the death of at least 12 individuals. Officials have squarely blamed Israel for the meticulously coordinated attack, although the Israeli military has refrained from commenting on the allegations.
In a subsequent wave of violence, walkie-talkies carried by Hezbollah members were targeted in Lebanon, leading to the death of nine individuals and leaving over 300 more injured.
