12th Caspian Energy Forum Focuses on Green Energy and Sustainability The 12th International Caspian Energy Forum recently took place in Baku, showcasing key speakers such as Azerbaijan’s Deputy Energy Minister and representatives from various energy companies and organizations. The theme of the event centered around the transition towards green energy and sustainability in the region. Topics of discussion included the transportation of green energy to Europe, the development of a ‘green economy’ in Middle Corridor countries, and the promotion of ‘Green Karabakh’ initiatives.
During the forum, the EU Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement expressed the EU’s commitment to supporting green energy projects in the South Caucasus and Central Asia regions. Deputy Energy Minister Orkhan Zeynalov highlighted Azerbaijan’s potential to generate seven GW of green energy by 2030, with plans to export a significant portion to the EU. Additionally, preparations for COP29 in Baku were discussed, with a focus on global energy initiatives to address climate change challenges.
The forum concluded with the announcement of the first gas forum, signaling a continued emphasis on sustainable energy development in the Caspian region.
