Union minister Ramdas Athawale expressed disappointment for not receiving any ministerial position in the Maharashtra cabinet due to the inclusion of the Ajit Pawar-led NCP in the Mahayuti government. He highlighted the promises made to RPI (A) that could not be fulfilled because of Pawar’s involvement. Athawale also advocated for RPI (A) to contest in 12 seats and be represented in the state cabinet for the upcoming elections.
On the Maratha reservation issue, Athawale suggested providing reservation under a separate category rather than including them in the OBC quota, to avoid opposition. He supported the Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024, and emphasized the ministry’s efforts in boosting de-addiction campaigns and providing benefits to a significant portion of India’s population through various schemes.
While speaking to reporters in Dahanu, Athawale shared the accomplishments of his ministry, including opening 51 crore bank accounts and aiding 46 crore individuals through schemes like the Mudra Yojana and Ujjwala Gas Yojana. He showed confidence in Mahayuti securing 150 to 160 seats in the state assembly elections.
