Syria Faces $500 Million Lawsuit Over Alleged Support for Hamas

Dozens of families with American citizenship, holding Israeli passports, have filed a $500 million lawsuit in U.S. District Court against Syria. The lawsuit claims Syria funded and supported Hamas, enabling the October 7 massacre. It seeks compensation for damages caused to the plaintiffs at the Nova Festival and surrounding areas.

Syria is accused of providing military equipment to Hamas, allowing them to plan attacks on Israeli territories. The lawsuit aims to hold Syria accountable as a state sponsor of terrorism, seeking justice under U.S. laws. The plaintiffs, represented by Gideon Fisher & Co., are joined by experts in security, medicine, and law.

Attorney Gideon Fisher stated, “We are prepared to file separate lawsuits on behalf of over 300 victims. Additional citizens are invited to join in holding entities accountable for funding terrorism.” Lt. Col. Maurice Hirsch emphasized the importance of civil suits in combating terrorism, citing Syria’s role in the “Axis of Evil.”

This legal action is part of ongoing efforts to seek justice for victims of terrorism and hold state sponsors accountable for their actions.
