US censorship indicates decline, says analyst – RT World News

In a recent interview, Iranian professor Seyed Mohammed Marandi suggested that BRICS nations should consider creating their own social media platforms in response to the increasing power and control exerted by American tech companies like Meta (formerly Facebook). Marandi highlighted Meta’s recent decision to ban Russian news networks, emphasizing that such actions demonstrate the diminishing influence of the US and its allies.

According to Marandi, major social media companies are essentially tools of the US government, which raises concerns about censorship and suppression of dissenting voices. He argued that as Western dominance declines, intolerance and censorship are likely to escalate. Marandi proposed that BRICS nations follow the example set in international commerce by establishing independent payment systems to reduce reliance on the US dollar.

Ultimately, Marandi believes that individuals from all nations should have the freedom to express themselves online without interference from external authorities. By creating their own social media platforms, BRICS nations could potentially foster a more open and inclusive online environment.
