Trump Shooter Update: An American man named Ryan Wesley Routh, who allegedly attempted to assassinate Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump, had visited Kiev and offered his services to Ukraine but was rejected. The Ukrainian military described Routh’s ideas as delusional and denied accepting his services.
Routh, 58, was arrested by the US Secret Service at the Trump International Golf Club in Florida. He claimed to have connections with the Ukrainian military and even tried to recruit fighters for Ukraine from Afghanistan.
In interviews and social media posts, Routh expressed extreme views about Russia, Ukraine, and even advocated for burning the Kremlin. He self-published a book in 2023 where he suggested killing Trump over his decision regarding the Iran nuclear deal.
Trump blamed President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris for Routh’s actions, claiming they fueled the belief that Trump posed a threat to democracy.
