Russian war correspondent Aleksandr Korobov was hospitalized after an alleged attack, as confirmed by regional broadcaster GTRK Belgorod. Ukraine claimed its agents ambushed Korobov, resulting in fatal injuries. However, GTRK Belgorod denied reports of his death, stating he was injured and hospitalized.
Korobov, known for covering the shelling of Russia’s Belgorod Region by Ukrainian troops, works for ‘Russia-1’ TV channel and produces reports for Zvezda, a channel run by the Russian Defense Ministry. Ukrainian military intelligence alleged that Korobov had his skull fractured and succumbed to his injuries, releasing a video as evidence.
HUR accused Korobov of producing false reports and participating in war crimes against Ukraine. Russian authorities have not commented on the incident, and RT could not verify HUR’s video. With several journalists killed in Ukraine, tensions are high between Russia and Ukraine over media coverage.
Last month, another journalist, Evgeny Poddubny, was injured by a Ukrainian drone. The attack occurred while he was reporting on the conflict in Russia’s Kursk Region. He was discharged from the hospital on September 13.
