Senior TMC MP Sukhendu Sekhar Roy resigned as editor of party mouthpiece ‘Jago Bangla’ due to personal reasons. He recently supported junior doctors’ protest after a tragic incident at RG Kar Medical College. Roy stated, “I can’t do justice to my role since 2022, and someone else should take over.”
Roy, a 13-year TMC member, took charge after a colleague’s arrest in 2022. His social media posts on the doctor’s protest caused a stir. He criticized the CBI’s involvement in the case and demanded strict action against the culprits. Roy also urged Home Minister Amit Shah to implement laws safeguarding women.
