Obaseki Reveals Junction Upgrades, Computerised Vehicle Centre

Transforming Edo State Transport System: Obaseki Inaugurates New Projects

The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, recently commissioned Sakponba and Sapele Road Junction improvement works, showcasing the government’s dedication to enhancing the transport system. The governor also unveiled a state-of-the-art computerized vehicle center for the Vehicle Inspection Office in the State.

Since 2016, Governor Obaseki has been focusing on redesigning the State’s transportation system, implementing regulations and setting up the Edo State Traffic Management Agency (EDSTMA) to ensure efficiency and safety on the roads. The newly inaugurated junctions are part of the long-term Edo State master plan supervised by the Edo State Transportation Management Authority.

Moreover, the governor plans to install CCTV cameras for monitoring and crime prevention, urging collaboration with transportation unions to ensure the success of these initiatives. The VIO Computerized Vehicle Inspection Centre aims to improve vehicle safety and reduce accidents in the State.

Overall, these projects mark significant progress in transforming Edo State’s transport system and improving the overall quality of life for its residents.
