Nelson sustained severe burn injuries, with his current condition unknown. Social media criticized NBC Boston for misreporting the location as “outside the Four Seasons Hotel” instead of the Israeli Consulate.
This tragic incident marks the third self-immolation in the US in protest against Israel’s actions. Last year, a woman set herself on fire outside the Israeli consulate in Atlanta, and in February, Aaron Bushnell died after a similar act in front of the Israeli Embassy in Washington, DC.
These extreme acts highlight the deep emotions and urgent pleas for action against Israel. The individuals involved have brought attention to the ongoing conflict and the human cost it carries.
