Hezbollah warns Israel against flare-up at Lebanon border

Hezbollah’s second-in-command warned of the consequences of an all-out war by Israel to repatriate 100,000 displaced people near the Lebanon border, suggesting that hundreds of thousands more would be displaced. This statement follows Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant’s commitment to secure the northern front.

Sheikh Naim Qassem asserted that while they have no desire for war, they will stand firm if provoked. He emphasized the potential for significant losses on both sides if conflict erupts.

The ongoing clashes between Hezbollah and Israel, stemming from Hamas’ attack on Israel, have led to displacement of thousands in the border region. The toll on Lebanon includes 623 deaths, mostly fighters, and 142 civilians. On the Israeli side, 24 soldiers and 26 civilians have been reported dead.
