Hezbollah Blames Israel for Lebanon Explosions
Lebanon’s Hezbollah has vowed to retaliate after accusing Israel of detonating pagers in an attack that killed at least eight people and wounded 2,750 others, including many Hezbollah fighters and Iran’s envoy to Beirut.
A Lebanese News Agency confirmed that hospitals in the south, the southern suburbs of Beirut, and the Bekaa called on citizens to donate blood after the explosion, which resulted from an Israeli technical breach of pager communication devices.
Hezbollah Strongly Responds
Hezbollah blamed Israel for the incident, with Lebanese Information Minister calling it an “Israeli aggression”. Hezbollah pledged that Israel will face consequences for the attack. UN expressed concerns over the situation in Lebanon.
Hezbollah fighters were using pagers to avoid Israeli tracking, with explosions occurring in Hezbollah strongholds. Health Minister reported 2,750 injured, including critical cases. Two Hezbollah fighters were confirmed dead, with Iran’s envoy sustaining minor injuries.
Despite no official Israeli response, their military was on high alert. Hezbollah has lost many fighters to Israeli strikes, with tensions continuing to rise. Efforts for peace in Gaza remain deadlocked.
Impact on Lebanon
After the explosions, ambulances rushed through Beirut’s suburbs, with widespread panic. Hospitals treated numerous wounded individuals, while BBC footage captured sudden explosions.
Hezbollah and Israel have been in constant conflict, displacing thousands, while Israel added the safe return of its citizens near the Lebanon border to their war goals.
Overall, the situation remains tense with potential for further escalation between Hezbollah and Israel.
