Former IDF Commander: Hamas Gaining Ground – NYT

The Palestinian Resistance Movement Hamas is declared as “winning this war” by a former Israeli army commander as ongoing conflicts unfold in Gaza.

The New York Times cited Maj. Gen. Gadi Shamni, a former commander of the Israeli military’s Gaza division, stating that “Hamas is winning the war”, despite Israeli forces winning tactical encounters.

It was reported that Hamas swiftly regained control of cities within 15 minutes after Israeli forces withdrew, leaving doubts among Israeli security officials regarding the defeat of Hamas.

Israel’s brutal offensive on Gaza has faced international condemnation as the conflict continues, with casualties and devastation escalating since the conflict began on October 7.

According to Gaza’s Ministry of Health, thousands of Palestinians have been killed or wounded, and a significant number are missing, presumed dead under the rubble of their destroyed homes.
