The Falkland Islands Government held their first fringe meeting at the Liberal Democrat Conference in Brighton on September 15. Members of the Falkland Islands Legislative Assembly (MLA), Mark Pollard and Leona Roberts, joined a panel with Liberal Democrat Peers to discuss self-determination in the 21st century.

Chaired by Dr. Al Pinkerton MP, the event drew over 50 attendees, allowing the MLAs to emphasize the Islanders’ right to self-determination. Pollard and Roberts were pleased with the turnout and engagement, highlighting the importance of the event in fostering discussions on Falklands-related issues.

This meeting marked a significant milestone for the Falkland Islands Government in building relationships and addressing self-determination concerns with UK political parties.
