Falklands Fidelis 2: Emergency Medical Evacuation Exercise
Exercise FALKLAND FIDELIS 2 provided an opportunity for the multi-agency team to enhance their skills in a controlled setting for effective support in the MEDEVAC chain. With about 5-7 aero-medical transfers occurring annually from the Falkland Islands to South America, this exercise aimed to prepare the team for such operations.
The exercise brought together members from various departments including the KEMH multi-disciplinary team, crew from A400M Atlas, search and rescue team from Bristow, Defense Fire Service, and medics from the regional medical centre. Training scenarios focused on improving strategies following recent MEDEVAC missions via military aviation.
This was the second event in the FALKLAND FIDELIS series, with plans for further quarterly exercises to enhance interoperability and optimize casualty care delivery.
