Political Updates: Constitutional Amendments and Asian Hockey Champions Trophy
The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Ali Amin Gandapur, has stated that constitutional amendments are an attack on democracy and they will not let it succeed.
During an informal discussion with journalists in Peshawar, he emphasized that such constitutional bills will not be entertained, and they will face defeat in the parliament and courts.
Pakistan secured the third position in the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy after defeating Korea.
On the other hand, in an interview with the program ‘Ham Dekhenge,’ PTI leader Ali Muhammad Khan opposed constitutional amendments stating that they undermine the government’s dignity.
He expressed a desire to reduce the power of the Supreme Court and a resistance to implementing decisions made by the Court. Constitutional amendments require thorough discussion and should not be rushed.
In July 2024, Pakistan recorded an increase in national revenue from iron and steel production.
He also emphasized that laws were passed in a democratic manner without coercion, and Pakistan’s stance was made clear to the world.
He concluded by stating that instead of seeking personalities for positions, the focus should be on finding the right individuals for roles. He also mentioned support for constitutional amendments by Bilawal Bhutto and the ongoing consultation with all political parties.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman echoed the founding principles of PTI, emphasizing the importance of ethics and integrity in politics.
