Good news from Edo State as the police have successfully neutralised a suspected kidnapper and rescued the victim, Iyobo Ighodaro, from captivity in the Egor area. The dramatic rescue operation was led by the diligent Divisional Police Officer, CSP John Emmanuel, who swiftly mobilised a surveillance team to track down the suspects to their hideout.
Upon arrival, a gun battle ensued between the police and the suspects, leading to the fatal injury of one suspect who was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead. The second suspect managed to escape with gunshot wounds. Thankfully, the victim was rescued unharmed and has since been reunited with his family after receiving medical attention. The police recovered the victim’s vehicle, a cut-to-size gun, one live cartridge, a cutlass, and three phones.
The Commissioner of Police, Nemi Iwo, commended the DPO and his team for their valor in combating crime and issued a stern warning to all criminals in the state. This successful operation highlights the commitment of the Edo Police Command in ensuring the safety and security of the residents.
