The Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, recently visited Katsina State to oversee the Nigerian Air Force’s intensified airstrikes against criminal elements in the Northwest. During the visit, he emphasized the importance of a comprehensive strategy for lasting peace, highlighting the role of the Quick Response Wing in increasing military presence in vulnerable communities.
Air Marshal Abubakar commended the Governor of Katsina State for his efforts in enhancing security, especially during the recent planting season free from bandit interference. He also lauded the establishment of the Katsina Community Watch Corps and initiatives to combat banditry. The CAS assured continued NAF support in protecting farmers during the upcoming harvest season.
The Governor reciprocated by praising the NAF’s successful air operations and pledged ongoing collaboration for the security of residents. The visit also included a condolence visit to the Yar’adua family and a briefing on the operational readiness of the Quick Response Wing at the 213 Forward Operating Base.
