Yemeni Missile Attack Exposes Flaws in Israeli Defense Systems
The recent Yemeni retaliatory attack on Tel Aviv has revealed vulnerabilities in Israel’s missile systems, as reported by Israeli newspaper Haaretz . Despite an expected warning from the Yemeni defense minister, Israel’s air defenses failed to intercept a ballistic missile launched from Yemen, which targeted a military site in Jaffa, south of Tel Aviv.
Yemeni Army’s spokesperson, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, confirmed the success of the missile strike, highlighting the failure of Israel’s defense mechanisms. This incident follows a previous drone attack near a US consular facility in Tel Aviv, where Israel’s interception systems also fell short.
Leader of Yemen’s Ansarullah movement, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, stated that these operations mark the fifth phase of escalation against Israel, vowing to continue until the regime ceases its genocidal war on Gaza. Since the conflict’s onset, Yemeni forces have conducted numerous operations in solidarity with Palestinians, targeting Israeli vessels and territories.
With casualties mounting in Gaza, the need for a ceasefire and accountability for the ongoing atrocities remains paramount.
