President Andrzej Duda recently made a significant decision to prioritize flood recovery efforts in Poland. By blocking over 3 million PLN from the Chancellery of the President of the Republic of Poland’s budget, the funds originally designated for administrative projects will now be directed towards assisting the Ministry of Finance in addressing the aftermath of severe flooding nationwide.
Expressing solidarity with those affected by the disaster, President Duda highlighted the importance of supporting the community in times of crisis. This action was taken in response to a plea from Małgorzata Paprocka, the head of the President’s Office, to suspend unnecessary expenses.
These budget cuts specifically target 3.098 million PLN allocated for projects that can be postponed without disrupting operations. The reallocated funds will contribute to immediate flood relief efforts as part of the government’s emergency response strategy.
Despite the freeze, Paprocka assured the public that the President’s Office’s functions will remain unaffected, and there will be no additional financial strain on the state. The postponed projects will be accounted for in the 2025 budget proposal.
