Australian Premier Jacinta Allan made a strong statement during her first official trip overseas, demanding more action to extradite Indian killer driver Puneet Puneet. Puneet has been evading extradition since 2008 after fleeing Australia following charges of culpable driving resulting in the death of Dean Hofstee.
Allan emphasized her support for Puneet’s extradition, labeling him a coward and advocating for justice. She started her four-day trade tour in Delhi, aiming to enhance ties with India and explore opportunities for collaboration.
Aside from discussing Puneet’s case, Allan also plans to address topics like education, sport, culture, and trade as well as the controversial international student cap. She met with Australia’s high commissioner and the CEO of Air India to explore business opportunities, with India being Melbourne Airport’s biggest growth market.
