PM Shehbaz Sharif Discusses Constitutional Amendment with PPP Delegation
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with a delegation from the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) led by Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to discuss the proposed constitutional amendment. The aim is to ensure swift and effective delivery of justice to the people by amending the Constitution and enacting legislation through Parliament.
The meeting also highlighted the positive economic indicators in Pakistan, with PM Shehbaz expressing satisfaction over the recent improvements. He mentioned the drop in inflation rate to single digits for the first time in years and the reduction in the policy rate by the State Bank of Pakistan, boosting investors’ confidence.
Additionally, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto met with Maulana Fazlur Rehman to discuss constitutional amendments. Both parties aim to strengthen the parliament and address non-contentious clauses in the bill through further consultations for consensus.
Despite the delay in Senate and National Assembly sessions, the focus remains on drafting a bill that incorporates agreed-upon clauses without rushing the approval process.
