PM Pashinyan Sees Opportunity to Resolve South Caucasus Conflict

Building Bridges: Armenia’s Historic Opportunity for Lasting Peace in the South Caucasus

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan recently met with his Georgian counterpart to discuss the ongoing efforts to resolve the conflict in the South Caucasus and establish lasting peace in the region. Pashinyan expressed his belief in the historic opportunity at hand, emphasizing that not only Armenia and Azerbaijan, but also Georgia, Turkey, and Iran would benefit from this peace.

Despite the challenges, Pashinyan affirmed the Armenian government’s commitment to pursuing peace in the region. He highlighted the “Crossroads of Peace” project as a representation of Armenia’s vision for the future.

During the meeting, Pashinyan shared updates on the Armenia-Azerbaijan normalization process, including progress made in negotiations and the proposed Treaty on the “Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations.” He stressed the importance of unblocking economic infrastructures and communication routes for regional stability and economic development.

As Armenia continues its efforts for peace, the collaborative approach with neighboring countries signals a promising path towards a more stable and prosperous South Caucasus.
