In a recent statement, MP Andranik Kocharyan emphasized that Armenia should not withdraw from the 9 November 2020 trilateral agreement to address the ongoing issues effectively. The agreement, also known as the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh ceasefire agreement, was signed by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
Armenia has repeatedly accused both Azerbaijan and Russia of breaching the terms of the agreement, highlighting violations such as the military takeover of Nagorno-Karabakh by Azerbaijan, failure to release Armenian hostages and POWs, and Russia’s inability to maintain the ceasefire.
Kocharyan emphasized the importance of keeping Armenia’s signature on the agreement to facilitate diplomatic solutions to the outstanding issues, including the potential return of Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians. He also addressed the concerns surrounding the Zangezur corridor, indicating that these issues will be addressed within the peace treaty’s framework.
