Gaza authorities warn of impending humanitarian crisis as winter approaches

The Gaza Media Office has issued a chilling warning of an impending humanitarian disaster for the 2 million displaced Palestinians in the Gaza Strip as winter approaches. According to government assessments, 74% of the current tents are not suitable for use, with 100,000 out of 135,000 in urgent need of replacement due to wear and tear from the harsh climate conditions.

The statement highlighted Israel’s blockade preventing the entry of essential materials like tents and caravans, further exacerbating the dire situation. The Office urged the international community to step in and provide immediate relief to prevent 2 million people from becoming homeless in the harsh winter cold.

Israel’s continued offensive on Gaza, in response to a Hamas attack, has led to a tragic toll of 41,200 deaths, mostly women and children, and over 95,200 injuries. The ongoing blockade has left the entire population of Gaza struggling with shortages of food, water, and medicine, prompting accusations of genocide at the International Court of Justice.
