Enhancements Announced for Iran’s Air Defense System
A high-ranking commander in Iran’s Air Defense Force has revealed significant improvements made to the Rasoul (Messenger) air defense system, marking a milestone in the country’s defense capabilities.
Brigadier General Mohammad Yousefi Khoshqalb, the deputy commander for coordination in the Air Defense Force, unveiled the enhancements during a recent announcement. The Rasoul system, which was integrated into Iran’s air defense network last year, now boasts increased operational range and altitude capabilities. It also features upgraded radar and optical systems, allowing for seamless integration with various defense systems.
Furthermore, the system can now support a variety of missiles beyond the Majid air-to-air missiles, offering flexibility in response to different operational scenarios. This advancement underscores Iran’s commitment to enhancing its self-sufficiency in defense technology amidst external sanctions.
Iran’s Air Defense Force Commander, Brigadier General Alireza Sabahifard, emphasized the importance of indigenous systems in bolstering the country’s defense capabilities. He highlighted Iran’s expertise in producing detection and surveillance systems, as well as training skilled manpower.
