Exciting news from Azerbaijan! The Central Election Commission has officially approved the protocol of the general voting results from the recent parliamentary election held on September 1. The results will now be submitted to the Constitutional Court for validation. Chairman Mazahir Panahov highlighted the Election Code requirement to finalize the results within 20 days of voting day, which has been successfully completed today.
During the process, 46 polling stations saw invalid results, leading to the dissolution of election commissions in 35 polling stations across 17 districts. Out of 6,433,184 registered voters, 2,395,510 participated, resulting in a voter turnout of 37.24%. The final list of elected MPs can be accessed online.
In a recent CEC meeting, discussions were held on addressing appeals and drawing up the final election protocol. Over 112,000 local observers and 598 international observers monitored the election, which saw 305 candidates from 25 political parties competing for seats in the parliament.
