Former President Donald Trump made a strong statement on Friday, declaring that California Republican Senate candidate Steve Garvey has no chance of winning in November without the support of the MAGA movement.
During a campaign event in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, Trump was asked if he would endorse Garvey over his opponent, Rep. Adam Schiff, a vocal Trump critic. Trump admitted he didn’t know much about Garvey and criticized him for not reaching out to the MAGA supporters.
Trump emphasized the importance of Garvey connecting with the MAGA movement for a shot at victory in the upcoming election. He also took the opportunity to criticize Schiff, calling him “one of the most disgusting human beings” and questioning his fitness for the Senate position.
Garvey, a former Los Angeles Dodgers star, will face Schiff in November, with Schiff currently holding a sizable lead in the polls. It remains to be seen how Garvey will navigate the challenge of gaining support from the MAGA base as the election approaches.
