British Foreign Minister Downplays Putin’s Threats
British Foreign Secretary David Lammy dismissed Russian President Vladimir Putin’s warnings of war over Ukraine’s use of long-range weapons. According to Lammy, Putin’s threats are just “bluster” and part of his usual tactics. The United States and the United Kingdom are considering easing rules on Kyiv’s use of Western-supplied weaponry following discussions between US President Joe Biden, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Specifically, Zelenskyy has been seeking permission to use British Storm Shadow missiles and US-made ATACMS rockets to target Russia. Talks on this matter will continue at the upcoming United Nations General Assembly meeting.
Russian Missile Strike Kills Two in Odesa
Tragedy struck in Odesa as two individuals lost their lives in a missile attack, with Ukraine’s air force intercepting some of the missiles fired by Russia. Odesa’s regional governor confirmed the deaths of a couple in the attack. Simultaneously, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed to have shot down several Ukrainian drones over different regions, including Ryazan.
