Iran has reached another milestone in its space program with the successful launch of Chamran 1, a domestically-built satellite weighing 60 kg. Placed at an orbit of 550 km, the satellite has already been monitored multiple times since its launch on Saturday morning.

Managed by Iran Electronics Industries, Chamran 1 is the first Iranian-made spacecraft with the ability to change its orbit post-launch. This sets it apart from previous satellites which were limited in their orbital movement capabilities.

Utilizing the Qaem-100 satellite carrier developed by IRGC aerospace experts, Chamran 1’s main mission is to test orbital maneuvering technology. Despite Western-imposed sanctions, Iran has continued to advance its space program with a focus on hardware and software system testing.

This latest achievement reinforces Iran’s commitment to space exploration and technological advancement, showcasing the country’s capabilities in overcoming challenges to reach new heights.
