In a tragic turn of events, a Palestinian paramedic named Hamdan Abu Anaba was killed in an Israeli prison following his arrest at a medical complex in Khan Younis, Gaza. The local health ministry confirmed his death while in Israeli detention along with his colleagues who were also arrested while on duty at Nasser Medical Complex.
The ministry has called on international and human rights groups to investigate the fate of other healthcare workers who were detained while carrying out their duties. This incident is just one of many, with over 885 medical personnel killed and 310 detained since the start of the war on Gaza last October.
Despite a UN Security Council resolution for an immediate cease-fire, Israel continues its brutal offensive on Gaza, leading to the death of over 41,000 people and injuring over 95,000, mostly women and children. The ongoing blockade in Gaza has further worsened the situation, causing shortages of food, water, and medicine.
Accusations of genocide against Israel for its actions in Gaza have been brought to the International Court of Justice, highlighting the urgent need for peace and justice in the region.
