The management of Edo University, Uzairue, has introduced a mandatory one-year industrial training program for students in Chemical and Mechanical Engineering departments. The focus is on acquiring technical skills in converting fuel vehicles to gas, aimed at reducing fuel costs, increasing affordable transportation, creating jobs, and fostering economic growth.
Acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Dawood O. Egbefo, highlighted the initiative’s benefits, including reducing carbon emissions, alleviating poverty, and aligning with Governor Godwin Obaseki’s vision for Edo State. The partnership with NIPCO, Presidential Initiative on Compressed Natural Gas, and Edo State Ministry of Mining and Energy ensures lasting benefits for the community and the nation.
