In an interview with Fena and Klix, Austrian Minister of Justice Alma Zadić emphasized the importance of Bosnia and Herzegovina fulfilling the necessary conditions to open negotiations with the European Union. Zadić stated that the door to Europe is currently open for BiH, but it could close quickly if the conditions are not met. She urged BiH to pass four key laws related to judiciary, personal data protection, and border control to move the process forward.
Zadić highlighted Austria’s support for BiH joining the EU and stated that the future of BiH lies within the European family. She stressed the need for BiH to take advantage of the current opportunity and start the negotiation process as soon as possible. Zadić also expressed concerns about the potential consequences of far-right parties winning elections in Austria, which could impact relations with the Western Balkans.
Zadić urged BiH to create a future that will encourage its diaspora to stay and build their lives in the country. With Austria’s continued support, she believes BiH can successfully integrate into the European Union and secure a bright future for its people.
