The Nigerian Army Calls for Action Against IPOB for Crimes Against Civilians

The Nigerian Army has urged Amnesty International and the International Criminal Court to take immediate action against the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its sponsor, Simon Ekpa, for their crimes against civilians in the South East region. The Army condemned the mistreatment of an ex-soldier by IPOB members, calling for accountability and justice.

In a statement released by Army spokesperson Maj-Gen Onyema Nwachukwu, the brutal torture of ex-soldier Corporal Toriola Adewale by IPOB members was highlighted. The video circulating online showed the ex-soldier being coerced into making false statements and propaganda against the Nigerian Army.

The Army emphasized the need for the international community to condemn such acts of terrorism and mistreatment of law-abiding citizens. They vowed to continue fighting terrorism and insurgency in the Southeast and across the country, bringing justice to those responsible for these heinous crimes.
